Experience the ultimate wildlife encounter with our 4-day gorilla trekking safari to Uganda, home to the majestic mountain gorillas. This itinerary focuses on providing an unforgettable and intimate experience with these incredible primates in their natural habitat.

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport (EBB), you will be met by our representative and begin your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This drive offers scenic views of Uganda’s diverse landscapes. Depending on your arrival time, there might be a stop at the Equator for photos and a brief break. You will check into your lodge near Bwindi for dinner and overnight stay, preparing for the adventure ahead. The journey from Entebbe or Kampala to Bwindi can take approximately 8-10 hours by road. Alternatively, for a quicker transfer, domestic flights from Entebbe to Kisoro are available, followed by a transfer to your lodge near Mgahinga or Bwindi

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Today is the highlight of your safari: mountain gorilla trekking! After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) rangers, which typically starts before 8:00 AM. Here, you’ll be assigned to a gorilla family, with groups usually limited to 8 trekkers. Accompanied by experienced guides and armed escorts, you will venture into the dense forest. The trek can range from one to eight hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements, and involves hiking through varied terrain, sometimes muddy conditions. Once you locate the gorillas, you will spend a magical hour observing and photographing them, witnessing their social dynamics and behaviors. After this incredible encounter, you will return to the park headquarters to receive a gorilla trekking certificate[10]. In the afternoon, you might have the option to visit a local Batwa community to learn about their culture and traditions.

Day 3: Second Gorilla Trekking or Lake Bunyonyi Excursion
For those seeking an even deeper gorilla experience, this day offers the option of a second gorilla trek, allowing you to observe a different gorilla family and compare their behaviors. This requires purchasing an additional gorilla permit in advance. Alternatively, you can choose a more relaxed day with a transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, Africa’s second-deepest lake. Here, you can enjoy a boat ride, explore the numerous islands, go bird watching, or simply relax by the stunning scenery, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Africa”.

Day 4: Return to Entebbe for Departure
After breakfast, you will begin your journey back to Entebbe International Airport for your outbound flight. Depending on your flight schedule, there may be opportunities for a stop at the Equator for souvenir shopping or a brief visit to Entebbe town. This marks the end of your memorable 4-day gorilla trekking adventure in Uganda.
